We’re the simple, straightforward way to original blog content for your business. In the following sections, I’m going to break down all of the important things you need to know about blogging before getting started — such as choosing the right niche for your site, why you should stay away from free blog hosting services and much more.
One of the most encouraging things about blogging is finding that someone else has not only read and enjoyed one of your posts, but they have taken the time to write a comment about it. It’s always nice to get praise, but answering questions or even responding to (constructive) criticism can be rewarding ways of engaging with others via your blog.
Successful and full-time bloggers are incredibly hard working; they are the stylist, the model, the photographer, the journalist and in charge of PR. Of course, if you are looking at a career in the fashion industry, these skills are critical for success; so blogging is great as a ‘log book’ of your specific fashion skills and passions.
One thing I did learn today, though, is that you can make your roux at any time during the day on Thursday, which may be a good thing if you’re like me and by the time you get to the serving part of Thanksgiving and you’re drunk off your ass, making a roux is quite challenging.
As I suggested in the Green Cross Code of Blogging , an important initial step before you start a blog yourself is to stop and check the blogs that are already in existence – preferable ones which are talking about your own market or subject area – to see what is being said, how they are being used and how they are approaching blogging as a business tool.
Analyze Your Blog Traffic: The key to blogging success lies in identifying what’s working and doing more of it; once your blog starts to gain traction and get some readership, start paying special attention to your blog traffic to see what kind of content is getting the most views.
